How to apply

Apply directly

When a call is open, eligible applicants apply to the funder or the organisation running the call.

In the first phase (outline phase), interested implementing organisations are invited to submit project outlines within the framework of an ideas competition.

Amount

€5,000,000 to €20,000,000 EUR

Depending on the thematic or country priority, IKI funding per project may range between 5 and 20 million euros.

Developing and emerging countries (Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East, Oceania and Europe)

The IKI supports solution strategies in developing and emerging countries that seek to achieve sustainable change.

NGOs, Research institutions and Companies

Non-governmental organisations; Universities and research institutions; International intergovernmental organisations and institutions such as development banks; United Nations organisations and programmes; Implementing organisations of the Federal Republic of Germany; Commercial enterprises.

What the funder asks grantees to report

Reporting

Implementing organisations submit an annual interim report (technical report on results, IKI standard indicators and safeguards, plus a financial statement) by 30 April, and twice-yearly project updates.

The technical report consists of information on the accomplished project results, IKI standard indicators and IKI safeguards.
